Jeep Logo Green Neon Clock

The Jeep Green Neon Clock features a hand blown ring of real glass neon generating 25 watts of light. Featuring a glass face with chrome finished, multi-tiered art deco style rims and a single ring of green neon. The clock face features the iconic Jeep logo in a green and white palette. The complete Jeep logo is a design that looks similar to the grill of a car bookended by two circles that are meant to represent headlights. It’s a design that is distinctly different from logos used by most automobile brands which tend to use ovals, circles and shields rather than a variation of an automobile made by the brand. For the font used to spell out “Jeep” the brand uses a Helvetica Bold typeface. The word Jeep is located above the grill and headlight design of the logo. This simple design of the Jeep logo is simplified even further by the fact that the brand chooses to only use the full logo for certain promotions and instead marks all of their vehicles with only the word “Jeep”. The quartz movement clock operates on one AA battery (not included). The neon light is powered by an AC adapter (included) that plugs directly into a wall outlet.

The Jeep legend began in November 1940, in the early days of World War II, just a year before the United States entered the war. A small, four-wheel drive prototype, the Willys "Quad", was delivered to the US Army. The Jeep Brand 4x4 emerged a hero to thousands of Allied soldiers around the world. The equally heroic civilian Jeep vehicles of the 1940s firmly established the Jeep Brand as the undisputed leader in 4x4 technology. The word “Jeep” became a registered trademark of Willys-Overland in 1950. A short three years later, the company was sold to Henry J. Kaiser for $60.8 million and became Willys Motors Inc. In 1970 Kaiser sold the company to American Motors(AMC)for approximately $75 million. Jeep remained an AMC brand until 1987, when American Motors Corporation was sold to Chrysler Corporation and the Jeep Brand became a part of Chrysler Corporation’s Jeep/Eagle Division. In 1998, the German Daimler-Benz merged with the Chrysler Corporation (including the Jeep Brand) for $36 billion. This continued until the parent company Chrysler Group LLC entered into a global alliance with Fiat SpA in 2009. Fiat S.p.A. purchased the Chrysler Group in 2014 for $3.65 billion and was renamed FCA US LLC, to reflect the Fiat-Chrysler merger. FCA US LLC remains the current day name of the company that owns the Jeep brand. Jeep has gone global enjoying record profits after the introduction of many new vehicles including the Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Renegade, and Jeep Compass.
