The Chevrolet Bowtie Junior Neon Sign features beautiful, bright blue and white glass neon tubes and a full color backing.  The iconic Chevrolet Bowtie logo is featured in blue neon with Chevrolet written in white neon. It is an officially licensed product and fully licensed by General Motors through Neonetics Inc. The sign can be hung against a wall or window; they can even sit on a shelf. If left alone on a wall and used intermittently they can last 20-30 even 50 years with no recharge. If left on 24/7 their life expectancy is 40,000 hours or 4 years. They are best when left alone, that is why it was the lighting of choice in Vegas for over 75 years. They operate best above 50 degrees Fahrenheit but can be stored down to -60 degrees Fahrenheit. All you do is hang it up and plug it in – no assembly or special wiring required. Give your home, garage, basement or business the fabulous glow of real neon by Neonetics!

The Chevrolet bowtie logo was introduced by company co-founder William C. Durant in late 1913. But how it came to be synonymous with the brand is open to wide interpretation. Durant’s version of how the logo came into existence is well known. The long-accepted story, confirmed by Durant himself, was that it was inspired by the wallpaper design in a Parisian hotel and in an official company publication titled ''The Chevrolet Story of 1961" it was written “It originated in Durant's imagination when, as a world traveler in 1908, he saw the pattern marching off into infinity as a design on wallpaper in a French hotel. He tore off a piece of the wallpaper and kept it to show friends, with the thought that it would make a good nameplate for a car.” Other accounts of the origin do not mention wallpaper at all. One such account was given by Durant's daughter, Margery, in a book she published in 1929 titled simply "My Father". In it she wrote “I think it was between the soup and the fried chicken one night that he sketched out the design that is used on the Chevrolet car to this day,” she wrote. Still, in another account based on a 13-year-old interview with Durant's widow, Catherine, another explanation emerged. She recalled how she and her husband were on holiday in Hot Springs, Va., in 1912. While reading a newspaper in their hotel room, Durant spotted a design and exclaimed, “I think this would be a very good emblem for the Chevrolet.” Unfortunately, at the time, Mrs. Durant didn't clarify what the motif was or how it was used. One other explanation attributes the design to a stylized version of the cross of the Swiss flag. Louis Chevrolet (co-founder of the company) was born in Switzerland at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Canton of Neuchâtel, to French parents, on Christmas Day 1878.

Originally called the Chevrolet Motor Company, the auto manufacturer was founded by a man named William Durant in 1911. The company's name came from a partnership that Durant had with a well-known race car driver named Louis Chevrolet. The partnership between Chevrolet and Durant folded due to a disagreement over the price point and design of vehicles being produced. In 1917 Durant, who was now president of General Motors, acquired the Chevrolet Motor Company. This was also the first year that a Chevrolet truck was manufactured. Three years later in 1920, Chevrolet was the third most popular automotive brand in the country, following Ford and Dodge.Today, Chevrolet continues its legacy of quality. The company, which now falls under the parent brand General Motors, produces cars, trucks and SUVs known for their durability, stylish appearance, comfort and reliability.
