Originally used from the year of Ford Motor Company's incorporation in 1903 until 1907. After 1907, the first signature-based Ford logo was used resembling the script we know and love today. The very first Ford logo was much different from the simple, streamlined image used throughout the twentieth century. This emblem featured a circle with an elegant art nouveau border that said “Ford Motor Co. Detroit, -Mich.-” inside of it.

Ford Motor company was launched from a converted wagon factory in 1903, with $28,000 cash from twelve investors. These investors included John and Horace Dodge, future founders of the Dodge car manufacturer. During its early years, the company produced just a few cars a day at its factory on Mack Avenue in Detroit. Groups of two or three men worked on each car from components made to order by other companies.
